Todd N. Nelson, 66, of Gering, passed away in his home Saturday, April 14, 2018 of cancer. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 20, 2018 at Northfield Assembly of God Church in Gering with Pastor Kiley Callaway officiating. The United States Air Force will provide military funeral honors. A private family inurnment will be held at Bayard Cemetery.

Todd was born January 16, 1952 in Bridgeport, the youngest of six children born to Oswald L. and Vida Rose (Bottom) Nelson. They lived in Bayard and later moved to Wisconsin. Todd was a graduate of Superior High School in Superior, Wisconsin. He attended two years of college prior to joining the United States Air Force, serving from 1972 until 1976.

Todd married Gloria Kellogg on August 6, 1977. They started out in Alliance and later moved to Bayard. Todd worded thirty years at BNSF Railroad in Alliance before retiring. He was a leader for Cub/Boy Scouts and Royal Rangers. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0200 in Bayard. Todd enjoyed golfing, doing jigsaw puzzles, camping, watching NASCAR, INDY races and air shows. He also loved spending time with family.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria; children, Melinda Nelson, Amorette (Justin) Davis and Tyler Nelson; grandson, Cash Davis; brother, Vance (Karen) Nelson; sisters, Attie (Robert) Yost and Trudy (Gary) Fickel; mother in law, Blanche Kellogg; sister in law, Cleora Nelson; brother in law, Tracy (Billie) Kellogg; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Todd was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Tracy and Kim Nelson.
