Ruby Vivian Karnatz, 87, of 707 East 5th Street, died Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.
Services will be Saturday, September 2, 2006; 10:30 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Friday, September 1, 2006; 1pm-9pm with family present 6pm-9pm and a prayer service will be at 7pm all at Butler-Volland Funeral Home. Visitation also 1 hr. prior to service at the church on Saturday, September 2, 2006. Memorials to Peace Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Karnatz was born February 11, 1919 in Ong, Nebraska to Anton & Emma (Samuelson) Thurin. She was baptized and confirmed in Ong, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church. She graduated from Ong High School in 1936 and attended Luther College in Wahoo, Nebraska. She married Robert Karnatz in Hastings, Nebraska on May 27, 1940. They lived in Hastings all 66 years of their married life. She was a longtime member of Peace Lutheran Church. She worked for Dutton Lainson Company for 35 years until her retirement. In addition, she worked as secretary at Peace Lutheran Church for 8 years.
Mrs. Karnatz was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
