Floyd was born on a farm north of Ong on May 18, 1914 to Nels and Tekla (Pearson) Christenson. He grew up in the Ong area attending country school there. He farmed with his father, brother, Flynn Christenson and brother-in-law Lawrence Knutzen near Ong.
In recent years he made his home with his sister Frances at the Good Samaritan Village in Hastings.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Ardella Gotchall and Emilie Knutzen and brother Flynn.
Survivors include his sister, Frances Herrick of Hastings; nephew Russell Knutzen of Edgar; nieces Ellen Ahlstrom of Omaha, Beth Hoffman and Nancy Weber of Friend; sister-in-law Lila Jean Christenson of Beaver Crossing and other relatives.
