Rennix, Joan Pearson
81, joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in heaven, January 23, 2012 after a long battle having suffered a massive stroke in December, 2009. Joan was the daughter of Oscar and Ruth Pearson and was born in Chicago, IL December 13, 1930. Joan graduated from Oak Park High School, attended Indiana University, Ray-Vogue Art School and the Art Institute of Chicago prior to pursuing a career as an interior designer. Joan married Ed Rennix in 1953 and they became the parents of two lovely daughters, Nancy and Susan, the grandparents of James, Timothy, Brian and Matthew, and the great grandparents of Daphne, Dalton and Payton.

While pursuing her career and raising their children Joan decorated their twenty homes as she moved with her husband all over the U.S. and two foreign countries. Joan was a member of Valley Presbyterian church and was active with the Women's Guild, participating with the Art Group of Cook's Tours and the Silent Auction in which her paintings always drew a good price. Joan painted every week with the Oak Street Artists and participated in the group's showings in Phoenix. Her art work is hung in a number of homes in the Phoenix area.

Joan was an active member of P.E.O., Chapter BL and her most recent post in P.E.O. was that of Chaplin. She was an avid rose gardener and an awesome cookie maker. Joan and Ed retired to Scottsdale 16 years ago and as was customary, Joan made a multitude of friends who will miss her ability in the arts, her beautiful smile and extraordinarily warm personality. Joan leaves her husband, Ed, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren all of whom she loved dearly.
