Hannah Jacobson, nee Bergquist, was born in Örkened parish, Kristianstads Lan, Skane, Sweden, May 28, 1861. In 1867 she came to America with her parents, first locating in Knoxville, Ill. They moved to Nebraska in October, 1872, and settled in Bryant precinct four miles west of Shickley.

On her birthday, May 28, 1881, she was united in marriage to Thomas Jacobson. They made their home four miles southwest of Shickley, where they resided until 1917, when they moved to their home in Shickley. Mr. and Mrs. Jacobson had the privilege of celebrating their golden wedding anniversary in 1931, together with many relatives and friends.

Mrs. Jacobson was a charter member of the Stockholm Lutheran church, the congregation being organized in her father's home in 1875. She has always taken a keen interest in the work of her church and was a faithful worshipper in the house of the Lord as long as health and strength permitted it. For many years she was president of the Martha-Mary aid society.

After a brief illness Mrs. Jacobson passed away at her home in Shickley Friday evening, April 30, 1937, at the age of 75 years, 10 months and 22 days. She leaves her husband and three children to mourn her passing. One child preceded her in death.
