Elsie J. Wilson Erickson,daughter of George A. and Maude S. McDaniel Higer, was born on a farm in Jewell County, Kansas, near Superior Oct. 2, 1906. She grew up on the family farm and attended Hardscrabble Country School.
April 19, 1932, she was united in marriage to Clifford H. Wilson in the Olive Hill Church where they both attended church. After living in that community four years, they moved to the Edgar and Deweese rural communities. Mr. Wilson died July 23, 1975. She remained on the farmseveral years after his death.
She was a member of the Church of Christ, Deweese. Jan. 6,1982, she was united in marriage to Wilhelm T.Erickson. They moved to his home in Clay Center. He died in 1987 and she moved to the Good Samaritan Village, Hastings, where she was making her home at the time of her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands,Clifford and Wilhelm; a sister, Virdie L. Klinker; two brothers, Amos and Charley Higer; and two nephews, Dale and Gaylord Higer.
She is survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She died Sept. 23, while a patient in Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 21 days.
