"Mom was an only child born to Wilhelm Fredrick and Helga Emma Cecelia (Gullberg) Johnson.
The cause of her death was heart failure, as a result of cancer running rampant through her body. She outlived the doctors' prediction of surviving for only a year, or less, by about 7 years.
When WW2 broke out, and women were called upon to support the war efforts by going to work, she quit high school and went to work at the Norton Company in Worcester in the office. It wasn't until much later in life that she took the GED test and accomplished it with flying colors, earning her a graduation certificate.
She enjoyed life, though, and loved Dad with all her heart, as she did her children and grandchildren, also.
