Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for the late Joe Anderson of Ong who passed away at his home this last Sunday. Mr Anderson had been seriously ill for some time prior to his death.

He was one of the elder citizens of the Ong community and one of its most highly respected men. In earlier years, he had been on the farm, was employed in the Ong Bank and later, operated it himself. Among other things, Mr Anderson, he has continued to operate an insurance agency, assisted with work around the elevator and was a community booster.

He was a member of the Odd Fellow lodge and was a great church worker. The funeral service was held from the Methodist church at Ong with the Rev S W Longacre in charge. Burial was made in the Ong Cemetery.
