Mrs Olivia N McCloughan, daughter of Edward and Emma Johnson, was born November 28, 1907 on a farm two miles north of Ong.

She passed to her eternal rest February 6, 1981, having reached the age of 73 years, two months and eight days.

Her entire life was spent in the Ong community. At the time of death she was living with her brother on a farm near Ong.

She was baptized in infancy by Pastor C A Sward of Stockholm Lutheran Church. Her family transferred to the Gethsemane Lutheran church in Ong in 1922. There she was confirmed in April 1923 by Pastor C O Isakson. In 1967 she transferred her membership to Christ Lutheran Church in Davenport, where she was a member at the time of her death.

She married Ernest O McCloughan in February 1944. Mr McCloughan passed away in April of 1951.

Mrs McCloughan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one aunt and two uncles.
She is survived by her brother, Harold Johnson of Ong; first cousins, Dwight Johnson of Burlington, Colo and Herbert Johnson of Kinville, Texas; one nephew, Ray McCloughan of Minneapolis, Minn., and a niece, Ines McCloughan of Omaha and many more distant relatives and a host of friends.
Assured by Holy Writ and believing in the resurrection power of Jesus the Christ, we await a happy meeting and reunion at the resurrection.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 11, 1981 from the Christ Lutheran Church in Davenport with Pastor James Sassman officiating.

Casketbearers were Wilson Gell, Chris Meyer, Duane Schrock, Dennis Hansen, Dale Lobeda and Eugene Wenske.
Interment was in the Ong Cemetery.
