Death came Saturday to Edgar's oldest resident Nels Peterson, who passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs J E Allen. He was 92 years, 5 months and 22 days of age.

Nels Peterson was born September 22, 1842, Önnestad, Sweden and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs J E Allen, in Edgar on March 14, 1936 at the age of 92 years, 5 months and 22 days.

He came to this country in the early summer of 1874 and on December 22, 1876, he was united in marriage to Nellie Bengtson at Fairmont, Nebraska. They later homesteaded a farm 1 1/2 miles north of Ong where his youngest daughter Mrs A G Karnatz and family now live.

Mr and Mrs Peterson lived on their homestead until 1909 when they moved to Ong where Mrs Peterson died on November 29, 1933. Since September 29, 1934, Mr Peterson had made his home with his daughter in Edgar.

He was a member of the Lutheran Church in Sweden and the Stockholm Lutheran Church near Ong after coming to this country. In 1922 he and his wife transferred their membership to the Gethsemane Lutheran church of Ong.

Left to mourn his passing are two daughters, Mrs J E Allen of Edgar and Mrs A G Karnatz of Ong, one sister, Mrs Elna Nelson of Ong, 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, besides other relatives and a host of friends. His wife and one daughter, Mrs S E Beck, preceded him in death. One son died in infancy. Three sisters also have passed on.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, March 16 at 1:45 at the home of Mrs J E Allen in Edgar and at 2:30 at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church of Ong. Rev Henning L Hassel was in charge of the services.

Mrs Carl Ericson and Miss Ruth Christianson sang"There's a Land That is Fairer Than Day." "Fade, Fade, Each Earthly Joy," "Saved by Grace," There'll Be No Night There" and "The Old Rugged Cross."
Pallbearers were Emmert, Edward, Adolph and Andrew Nelson, all nephews of the deceased and Alfred and Alvin Swanson.
Interment was made in the Stockholm Cemetery.
