Lila Jean Christenson, 76, died Feb. 15, 2008, at Warren Memorial Hospital in Friend.
Mrs. Christenson was born Oct. 9, 1931, in Beaver Crossing to Orville and Inez (Roach) Flanigan.
She graduated from Beaver Crossing High School in 1949 and attended every reunion banquet through 2006.
She attended the Lincoln Beauty Academy and began a career as a hair dresser in 1951. By the time of her retirement in 2006, she was operating Lila Jean's Beauty Shop in Beaver Crossing.
On Dec. 9, 1952, she married Flynn Carlon Christenson at the St. John's Lutheran Church parsonage.
Along with her work in hairdressing, she worked at the Milford Rest Home and at Madonna in Lincoln from 1986 to 1996.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Cordova.
Mrs. Christenson was preceded in death by husband Flynn; two infant sons; brothers Chester and Jack Flanigan; and sister Hazel Sedden.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Beth and Jack Hoffman and Nancy and Les Weber, all of Friend; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services were Feb. 19 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cordova with the Revs. Kris Rebentisch and Arnold Jurchen officiating.
Casketbearers were Ray Gard, Roger Hannon, Bob Witte, Chad Heiser, Don Bolte and Bob Beckler.
Interment will be at the Beaver Crossing Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Beaver Crossing Volunteer Fire and Rescue or American Legion Auxiliary Unit 178.
