Word was received in Nelson of the death of Charles E. Beck, Sr., of Vancouver, Washington, May 10. of Camas, Washington, May 10. (Typed as written in newspaper.) Beck, 1 28 year employee of the Crown Zellerback paper mill at Camas, died after being crushed between a roll lowering table and a paper rewinder at the plant. Beck was discovered caught between the equipment about 8:30 a.m. by fellow workers. He was given immediate first aid and rushed to the hospital. Charles was born April 3, 1922, at Edgar, Nebraska. The family lived near Nelson where he attended the Nelson High School.
Survivors are his wife, Neva, mother, Mrs. Charlotte Janoe, Mesa, Arizona, son, Charles E.,Jr., Fairbanks, Alaska, brother, Wendell Beck, Portland, Oregon and sister, Inez Marie Jasperson of Portland, Oregon.
Services were held Monday, May 14, 1979, at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel. Interment was in the Garden of Apostles, Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
