Claude S (Red) Allen, 50, of 1232 S Stevens St., a printer for The News Tribune since 1948, died Friday in a local hospital.
He had worked Thursday night shift and returned home when he was stricken early Friday. Mr Allen was born in Edgar, Neb and had worked for a printing job shop in Seattle before joining The News Tribune.
An Army veteran he saw extensive duty in World War II. He was a member of Aerie No 3 of the Eagles Lodge; the American Legion; National Rifle Association; and International Typographical Union, Local 170. He also attended the Jehovah's Witnesses Church. Survivors include his wife, Erma F; and two brothers, Wiley of Bremerton, and Clair, of Yakima. Services are announced today by Mountain View Funeral Home.
