Mr Erickson was born on Jan 21, 1928, in Ong to Earnest and Ebba (Roos) Erickson. The family moved to the Grand Island area. He attended school in Grand Island and Wood River and graduated from Wood River High School in 1945. He attended Kearney State Teachers College and taught at District 16 School in Wood River.
He married Naomi J Fuerstenau on Nov 4, 1951. He worked for Overland National Bank in Grand Island for 23 years and was also a financial adviser. He also worked at Chief Industries and Pony Express.
He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and served on the church council and several committees. He served on the YMCA board of directors, school board and two terms on the chamber of commerce board of directors.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Tom of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Tim of Greenwood, Mo.; one daughter Jane Davis of Hastings; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Marvelle Laursen of Grand Island.
