Frances Herrick was born January 27, 1912 in Ong, NE to Nels and Tekla (Pearson) Christenson. She departed this life on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 96 years.

Frances attended Logan Center School and Ong High School, graduating in 1930.
She and her older sister Ardella operated a cafe in Ong for a time before she got married.
Frances was united in marriage to Albert Herrick on May 1, 1939. Albert was a feed mill operator in Ong and she spent her married life as a homemaker.

Shortly after Albert's death in September, 1970, she moved to Good Samaritan Village in Hastings, Nebraska. Frances worked in food service and the dining area at the Towers and also cleaned apartments for several residents at the Good Samaritan Village until she was 85 years old. Frances also took care of her brother Floyd for 5 years until his death in 2003. Frances moved to the Sutton Community Home in December of 2006.

Frances has 1 nephew, 3 nieces and many great-nephews and nieces and great great-nephews and nieces. Frances enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Over the years she has made many afghans as a special gifts for nieces and nephews, making the last one in Spring of 2006 for her great-nephew.

Frances also enjoyed writing letters and reading, especially her Bible. She was active in the Ong Methodist Church.
