Charles Anton Peterson was born in Smaland, Sweden, May 27, 1863 and died at Ong, Nebraska, Febr. 3, 1945, at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 6 days.

On May 27th, 1870, Mr. Peterson landed with his parents in New York, N. Y., from here they set out for Altona, Ill., where he lived with his parents for three years. At Burlington, Ia., he was confirmed as a Lutheran by the Rev. Erlander on May 27, 1881. Later, he with his parents went to New London, Ia., where the family resided a farm, and it was here that Charles grew to manhood. I
n 1884, the family moved to Nebraska. Here, they settled on a farm near Shickley, where Mr. Peterson lived until a few weeks before his death.

On June 12, 1900, Charles Peterson was united in marriage with Miss Josephine A. Anderson, to this union was born three children, Mrs. Edwin Anderson of Ong, Clinton of Shickley and Floyd of Homedale, Idaho.

They who mourn his departure are his wife, three children, seven grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. N. A. Lindstrom and Mrs. Frank Westering, both of Edgar; other relatives and a host of friends.
