lbert George Karnatz, son of Fred and Mary Karnatz, was born Dec 26, 1887 near Burr Oak, Kans., and died at the Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, Feb 10, 1955 at the age of 67 years, one month and 14 days.

He came with his family to the Ong community and on March 21, 1917 was married to Miss Edna Peterson. To this union three children were born, Mrs Fern Gupton of Stratford, Texas, Mrs Elsie Erickson of Hastings and Reuel Karnatz of Fairfield. Mr and Mrs Karnatz farmed in the Ong community for about 40 years. He was a member of the Ong Methodist Church and served on the Board of the Church.

He is survived by his wife, his three children, twelve grandchildren, his parents, two brothers, William of Davenport and Herman of Lena, Ill., and two sisters, Mrs Dena Weis of Summerfield, Kans., and Mrs Ethel Mileger of Edgar.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb 3 at 2:00 at the Ong Methodist church with the Rev Harry Gleim in charge. Mrs Herschel Gowen sang two solos, accompanied by Mrs Ralph McCloughan.
Pallbearers were John Zuehlsdorf, Harry Wight, Herman Gemmer, Frank Starr, Don and Forrest Shrock, Mrs Herman Gemmer and Mrs Frank Starr had charge of the flowers. Burial was made in the Edgar Cemetery.
