Robert R. Brearly, 89, of Lancaster, went to be with his Savior on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born May 4, 1922 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Francis and Julia (Johnson) Brearly. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Doris A. (Kiefer) Brearly, of Lancaster.
Mr. Brearly was a member of Grace Brethren Church. He was a mechanical engineer for RCA, Westinghouse and Catalytic Construction. Robert was a very active real estate investor. He and his wife were extensive world travelers and always enjoyed going to the Jersey shore.
In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his son: Wayne R., husband of Judy Brearly of Kennett Square; his daughters: Wendy J., wife of Tom Winnberg of Woods-town, NJ and Dawn Janczewski of California, MD; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his brother, Edward Brearly.
