ONG - Lynn Morris Benson died September 16, 1994 at the Heritage Home in Geneva at the age of 83 years, nine months and seven days.
Funeral services were conducted on September 19, 1994 at the Stockholm Lutheran Church with the Pastor David Schafer officiating. Music was provided by Stanley Johnson who accompanied Shirley Larson. Casket bearers were Joe Gruber, Donn Mellott, Howard Johnson, Darrell Johnson, Lonnie Benson, Ronald Benson, Dale V Johnson and Dick Johnson. Interment was in the Ong Cemetery.
He was born on January 9, 1911 at Ong, NE to August William and Jessie Mae Woodhead Benson. He was one of two children.
Lynn graduated from the Ong High School with the class of 1930.On September 9, 1933, Lynn was united in marriage to Ethel E Johnson of Shickley. They were blessed with three children and were married 61 years. He spent his life farming in the Ong area.
He was baptized in the Christian faith at Stockholm and confirmed at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Ong. He served as secretary of the church board for many years. He provided musical contributions at the funeral services of friends in the Ong community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, August W Benson and Jessie M Benson.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel; two sons R Gordon and wife Dixie of Lincoln and Eldon and wife Judy of Ong; daughter Rosy Niedt of Lincoln; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
