Mrs Edna Eureka Karnatz, daughter of Nels and Nellie Bengtson Peterson, was born on June 3, 1889 at Ong.

She grew up at Ong and she was united in marriage to Albert Karnatz on March 21, 1917, at Clay Center. To this union was born three children, Fern, Elsie and Reuel.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Ong.

Mrs Karnatz moved to Hastings, following the death of her husband, Albert in 1955.
Mrs Karnatz passed away on September 4, 1981 at the Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, at the age of 92 years.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs William (Fern) Gupton of Stratford, Texas and one son, Reuel Karnatz of Sturgis, SD; one son-in-law, Vincent Erickson of Hastings; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.

Beside her husband Albert, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mrs Vincent (Elsie) Erickson in 1975, her parents, two sisters and one brother.

Services were held on Tuesday, September 8, 1987, at 10 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of the Good Samaritan Village at Hastings. The Rev Martin B Lingwall officiating burial was in the Edgar Cemetery, Edgar.
