Hulda Josephine, third child of Nels and Nellie Peterson, was born near Ong, Nebr., on Sept 21, 1882 and departed this life on June 19, 1945 at Seattle, Washington at the age of 62 years, 8 months and 28 days.

She was united in marriage to John Emerson Allen on Nov 28, 1910. To this union were born three sons, Claude, of the U S Army overseas; Edgar Clair, also of the U S Army now stationed at Camp Roberts, Calif., and Wiley J of Seattle, Washington.
She was baptized in infancy in the Lutheran church of Ong, Neb., and was confirmed in that faith. Later she transferred her membership into the First Presbyterian Church of Edgar, Neb., where she resided for many years after her marriage and where she reared her three sons to young manhood after the death of her husband.

She later moved to Seattle, Washington and was much interested in her church there and attended as long as her health permitted. She was cheerful to the end and faced death triumphantly, without fear, knowing that the Pilot of her life, who had been with her throughout her trials and anxieties would pilot her through the waters of Jordan to the home prepared for those who put their trust in Him.

She leaves to mourn, besides her three sons mentioned above, two grandsons, John William and Robert Andrew Allen of Seattle, Washington; one sister, Mrs Edna Karnatz of Ong, Nebr., numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents and one sister, Mrs Sadie Beck.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev T S Hughes, her former pastor in Edgar, at 3:00 o'clock on Friday, June 22, 1945.

Interment was made in the Evergreen Cemetery in Seattle, Washington.
