Eleanor Christenson, 90, was born Aug. 5, 1910, to Martin and Anna (Wongdahl) Hokom on their farm north of Ong. She died Sunday at Mary Lanning Hospital, Hastings.
She attended country school, graduated from Ong High school in 1928, from Hastings College in 1932 and Lincoln School of Commerce in 1935. She worked as a bookkeeper in Lincoln for many years. In 1953, she returned to Ong to care for her parents.
In 1955, she married Carl R. Christenson. He died Nov. 23, 1970. She was an active member of the Ong United Methodist Church. She served as Sunday School superintendent and was church treasurer.
She was preceded in death by her husband her parents. Survivors include five cousins.
Services were held Wednesday at the Ong United Methodist Church. Pastor Mark Richardson officiated. Burial was in the Swedish Cemetery at Shickley. Williams Funeral Home of Edgar was in charge of arrangements.
