Delaney "Dave" Lindsay, age 66, of Tonasket, died on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001 at his home near Tonasket following a machinery accident.
He was born on Sept. 8, 1934 in Poteau, OK to parents, Marshall and Carrie Lindsay. Delaney was raised in Oklahoma. He entered the U.S. Army and served his country for two terms.
He lived in the Tacoma area for many years and worked for the City of Fir Crest as an electrician before starting his own business, Lindsay Electric in Tacoma. He had also worked as an electrician for Viacom while living in Tacoma. On Aug. 20, 1988 he married Kathleen Young in Gig Harbor. Mr. Lindsay retired from the electrical business and moved to his property in Tonasket.
Franklin Delaney Lindsay: Was inducted into the US Army in 1957 and received Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Tour of duty was served at Fort Leonard Wood. Released from active duty in June 1959, but was called back to active duty in 1961 during the Berlin crisis. Released again from active duty in 1962. Received Honorable Discharge. - Carl C. Delaney was active in the Rocky Hull fire relief effort. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church and very active in the Tonasket Assembly of God. He was also active with the Pointman Ministries.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Kathleen at home; two sons, David of Tacoma and Stephen of Colorado Springs, CO; one daughter, Charmin Mills of Seattle; one stepson, Dana Young of Carnation; two brothers, Joe Lindsay and Robert Lindsay, both of Klammath Falls, OR and Carl Lindsay of Oklahoma; two sisters, Virginia Yoakum of Phoenix, OR and Betty Rushing of Hilmar, CA; nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Monroe and Dean, and two sisters, Ruby and Lela.
Services will be Tuesday, March 6, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the Free Methodist Church in Tonasket with Pastors Ron Wise and Mike Forney officiating. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Child Evangelist Fellowship, Inc., Warrenton, MO 63383-0348. Bergh Funeral Service Oroville/Tonasket is in care of arrangements.
