Monroe H. Lindsay, 70, of Red Oak (Oklahoma), died Sunday at his home. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Park Road Church of Christ in Wilburton with Mr. Frank Wilson officiating. Interment will be at rock Creek Cemetery, Red Oak, under the direction of Jones funeral Home in Wilburton.
Mr. Lindsay was born July 17, 1922 in Hughes and married Lucille Houston in 1950 in McAlester. He was a retired Latimer County employee, a veteran of WWII, U.S. Army, was affiliated with the Park Road Church of Christ, and lived in the Red Oak area most of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Lindsay of the home; two sons, Jimmy W. Lindsay and James "Bill" Lindsay both of Red Oak; one daughter in law, Janie Lindsay of Red Oak; three sisters, Virginia Yoakum of Phoenix, Ore., Betty Jean Rushing of Hilmar, Calif. And Lela Mae Smith of Rail Road Flat, Calif.; four brothers, Joe G. Lindsay and Robert Lindsay both of Klamath Falls, Ore., Franklin D. Lindsay, Roye, Wash., Carl Lindsay of Oklahoma City, and six grandchildren.
